We develop projects as owners and as joint venture partners with third parties who may need development and operating expertise.

 

Owning and operating apartment communities for 52 years provides us with valuable experience which translates into development project optimization, especially as it pertains to exterior design, unit mix and floor plans, amenity selection and design, and overall project size.

 

In December 2022, the company completed the 340-unit first phase of apartment development at The Colony, a 24-acre mixed-use project that will include office, retail, and hotel along with up to 990 housing units.  Phase I was limited in height to 75 feet.  It is on six acres.  The building is five stories. The project architect was BB+M.  LandDesign handled civil.  Choate Construction was the general contractor.  Planning for Phase II, which will be approximately 350 units on 3 acres on 15 floors, has been underway since mid-year 2023.

Prior developments included projects in the Ballantyne area of Charlotte, in Davidson just north of Charlotte, and in downtown Charlotte.
